A rainy day story
It was raining, a brief shower that caught out a few people along the headland. The shelter next to this barbecue was a damp-person magnet. A mix of steam rising from the plate as rain sprinkled it, and the falling drops, offered an opportunity to grab an interesting shot or two. The food smelled delicious, dousing barbecue spectators like patrons in a long food-hall queue.
A check of the monitor showed some nice streaks of rain peppering the bacon as the crowd jostled for protection. A quick fiddle with mixes of aperture and shutter speed produced this image. Quite adequate to recall the mini shower and outdoor cooking adventure. Then the rain stopped, the audience dispersed, the family ate. These miniature life slices bring lovely narratives to the world. They are worth sharing.
A quick review in the dry of home, showed the lovely addition to an already fabulous vignette. The sign to the right had gone unnoticed through the lens. Some butts should definitely stay in Burleigh. Visitors, please read the signs. Bring your butts and bin your butts.
